Preface

Below is a copy from the Preface of Twice Rescued!

Remember in the Bible where God tells us something like, "...I know the plans I have for you. They are for your good and not for bad."  (Paraphrase mine)

Well, sometimes I just want to throw up my hands and say, "What is that all about?" If God has such a good plan for me why do I go through all this crap? (Yes, that is the word I used. I know the King James translators have the Apostle Paul use the word "dung," but I think my word is more fitting for today.) I don't know, maybe the crap that I deal with is my own fault, but the good and bad along the way has created for an incredible adventure. It seems that the ups and downs all come together in the end to equal the positive.

Some people are very good at making life choices and setting goals to determine where they will be in five, ten, or even twenty years. That is not me. I have always simply taken the road that presented itself (or even left the road for a more unplanned adventure!). I would never have dreamt of finding myself where I am today. It just happened to me, as you will read most things in my life have happened. My habit of not planning ahead has driven some of my friends crazy. It may have even driven me crazy from time to time, but for some reason, that is just who I am.

Now that I have stopped long enough to gaze out on the beauty of this incredible adventure, I am happy to say that I can now see good unfolding where I once thought I only saw bad! In fact I would have to say, "God really does cause everything to work together for good..." (Romans 8:28).

So, the following, as the old bumper sticker more or less reads, "Just Happens!" I invite you to examine this unbelievable journey that will take you to heights of adventure, and depths of failure only to find God waiting in both places. I pray that the pages ahead will help you comprehend God's "plan for good" where you see only bad in your own life. The adventure before you may be indescribable, but then again, so is God.

Enjoy the journey.
